Who is The Brown Dog?

The Brown Dog is actually named Swarley. Swarley was a rescue from the south, brought up North on a pet transport when he was around 8 weeks old. When his mom saw his puppy picture on Petfinder in 2013 (look at the photo, how could she not fall in love with him??) she knew that was her puppy. Swarley is now 10 years old and has truly changed Morgan's life and has been with her through so much. He is a true mixed breed, with the highest percentage of a breed being 23% Weimaraner and surprisingly no retriever breeds at all! He is affectionately known by people close to him as The Brown Dog, Brown Dog and Brown. Swarley is a very special dog and brings joy to every person who meets him. Swarley's favorite activities are dock diving, hiking, chewing on nylabones and getting pets and snacks. Swarley was diagnosed in September 2022 with a perivascular wall tumor (soft tissue sarcoma) on his hind leg and has had 3 surgeries to try and remove as much of the cancerous tissue as possible. Every day with Swarley is truly a gift.
In Swarley's prime he was an excellent dock diver with a Dock Elite title and a personal best jump of 25 feet!
Swarley loves to hike off leash in the woods and has hiked many mountains!
